Overview

InnVentures (a Highgate Company) has been a preeminent operator of select service and extended stay hotels since its founding in 1982. We currently manage extended stay and select service hotels within the Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt and IHG family of brands across the county. InnVentures was the first franchisee of Marriott’s Residence Inn brand and has been presented by Marriott with its coveted “Partnership Circle” award multiple times – the highest honor bestowed upon Marriott franchisees. A long list of such awards serves as a testament to our commitment to quality, and our ability to consistently meet or exceed high standards set by the franchise.

 

InnVentures is expanding our development team to accelerate the strategic growth of InnVentures and our broader hotel portfolio. We are seeking a competitive, self-driven leader with a proven track record of sourcing and identifying management opportunities, and closing deals in the hospitality sector through a combination of: (i) working with existing owners of select service hotel looking to make a management change to InnVentures, (ii) aligning with buyers of select service hotels to place InnVentures to manage upon acquisition and (iii) working with developers building new select service hotels to place InnVentures to manager upon opening..

 

This executive will be a deal maker at heart—energized by the pursuit of opportunities, driven by results, and equipped with deep, active industry relationships. They will leverage their established network of owners, developers, brokers, brand partners, lenders, and investors to consistently generate a high-quality pipeline of development and acquisition projects.

 

This role requires a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, naturally earns trust, and communicates with clarity and conviction. The SVP of Business Development will collaborate closely across the organization, shaping the next phase of InnVentures’growth strategy while representing the company with credibility, responsiveness, and professionalism.

 

Responsibilities

  • Aggressively source and secure hotel management opportunities aligned with InnVentures’ strategic growth plan.
  • Leverage and continuously expand a robust network of developers, brokers, lenders, brand development teams, and investors.
  • Lead negotiations, proforma underwriting, due diligence, and management contract structuring.
  • Conduct market, financial, and feasibility analyses to support business plan recommendations and investment strategies on behalf of ownership.
  • Present opportunities to Senior Leadership and build alignment across key stakeholders.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Revenue, Sales & Marketing, HR, and Legal to ensure seamless management contract advancement.
  • Maintain expert awareness of market trends, development pipelines, capital conditions, zoning and competitive landscapes.

Qualifications

  • 10–15+ years of progressive hospitality business development or real estate investment experience.
  • Demonstrated success in sourcing management opportunities and closing deals.
  • 3–5+ years in a senior leadership capacity, ideally within select-service, lifestyle, or growth-driven hospitality environments.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen, including underwriting, valuation, modeling, and ROI analysis.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, influencing, and communication skills.
  • A competitive, entrepreneurial mindset that thrives in a growth-driven, performance-oriented culture.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • May be remote from a major metropolitan U.S. market.
